Classical Guitar Magazine – CD Reviews

“Virtuosity, power and sensitivity are matched by all three artists and one hears shades of the sound world created by the legendary Presti-Lagoya duo in the phrasing and timbres used by this exciting trio.”  Steve Marsh

The Modern Guitar Trio was formed in 2000 when Australian Roland Chadwick teamed up with English virtuosos Roland Gallery and Vincent Lindsay-Clark to record Roland Chadwick’s Letter from LA for his CD; The Revealing. This suite has since been performed extensively by the Modern Guitar Trio and other trios have played this work throughout Europe, the Americas and Australia.

After that first recording, Roland G, Roland C and Vincent set about creating a new repertoire for The Modern Guitar Trio culminating in their new program: Metropolis by Vincent Lindsey-Clark; Three Venezuelan Folk Songs by Roland Gallery; The Memory of Water by Roland Chadwick and of course, Roland Chadwick’s Letter from LA.

Recent Performances include The International Classical Guitar Festival of Great Britain at West Dean; Heidelberg Guitar Festival 2016 with Pepe Romero.
